Whew! Well, that was interesting.
Did anyone else experience a year-long semi panic attack? Talking to a group of entrepreneur ladies I meet with (semi)regularly, everyone seems to have had one hell of a year. Sure, big things were accomplished–Brian and I built a house! Babies were born (not to me)! Businesses took off! But maybe the planets weren’t aligned correctly or some woo-woo something like that, because it seems like a general consensus that everyone had a rough run in ’18. We’re all a bit tired today. Sort of weary.
Because I believe in accountability, I’m going to share with you here how I plan to make 2019 better. Step one: I will NOT be building any more houses in 2019. HA! But in all seriousness I do have a few plans I’d like to take action on and I’m going to lay them out for you so that I have several thousand people holding me accountable.
Huh. That’s sort of a scary thought. But hey, this way I’ll do all the things. Let’s jump into it.
- I’m going to take more risks. I have been a rules, rules, rules girl my entire life and the thought of deviating from a schedule freaks me out. This is a big, scary one for me so I figured I’d list it first. I’m going to do more things that scare the shit out of me in 2019.I’ll be talking about them in a series of articles so keep your eyes peeled for them.
- I’m going to workout more. I used to workout 6 days per week and I loved it. Hell, I even built an entire business out of helping women lose weight. And then my chronic back pain reared it’s ugly head and I slowed down. A lot. Then life got crazy and I nearly stopped. I could give you a million excuses, but I’m not going to. I have a small back surgery scheduled for January 15th. Once recovered, I will be getting back into whatever my body permits me to do, daily. If it’s a slow yoga practice or if it’s simple cardio, I’m going to listen my body and get back to feeling good. I encourage you, if you’ve fallen off too, to join me. I’ll be posting about it over on my Instagram.
- This one is for you:I’m going to be writing more. More recipes, more workouts, more musings, more love. I have an idea for a book, completely unrelated to my website, that could be a fun thing to pursue. I’ll let y’all know if I can get it going. Expect many more words from me in 2019.
There: Not too many, not too few. I think I’m going to have my hands full with the coming year and I’m excited to see what happens. I’ve never liked resolutions because they always seem a bit forced. But this year, looking back at the craziness of 2018, I think a few promises to myself are necessary.
Did you have a crazy 2018? Do you feel like the whole year was just a bit off, too? Do you set resolutions and if so, what are a few of yours this year?
