Chocolate Covered Strawberry Overnight Oats?!
Who here loves breakfast but hates making it? I’m sure I’d like making it if I had more time in the mornings. As it usually happens, I just feel rushed and breakfast is the first thing off the table when my schedule is crunched. And how does that benefit anyone? It doesn’t, because I get grumpy and my stomach hurts and y’all have to deal with my hangry ass. Nobody wants that.
And so, I give you:
Chocolate Covered Strawberry Overnight Oats
2/3 c. organic strawberries, sliced
1 c. almond milk (or 2/3 c. milk and 1/3 c. yogurt)
½ c. steel cut oats
½ ripe banana, smashed up
1 T. chia seeds
2 t. unsweetened raw cacao powder
1-2 T. maple syrup
½ t. vanilla extract
PS that raw cacao powder has the highest antioxidant value of all the natural foods in the world.
Let that sink in: I want you to eat chocolate. 😉
As a wellness & fitness coach, I want you to eat in the mornings. I think you will be able to make better decisions and create more badassery throughout the day when your stomach isn’t nagging at you. While I’m on the subject I also want you to eat WHEN YOU’RE HUNGRY. Anytime you’re hungry. Yeah, I said it.
This doesn’t mean go to town on the nearest donut box… although every once in a while I encourage you to eat one. It means making smart decisions about what you put in your body.
Eat simple. Eat clean. Eat until you’re full.
Simple rules.
